Thank you for this communication. It truly helps me to get my weekly action plan together. Quick question: Is anyone from West Michigan planning to travel to the June 6th protest in DC?

IGGR isn't organizing any travel. Have you asked in the Facebook Group?

Thank you for this communication.

In the last week or so I've seen a number of people commenting to various posts and they have really good ideas about how to grow the number of people attending protests/ events. I have tagged Indivisible of Greater Grand Rapids but haven't seen any responses. I know you have a alo on your plates, as we all do. Is there a better way to communicate with administrators of IGGR?

A few ideas that I hope you'll consider:

Is there a way to make a specific page listing events that we can repost? The news doesn't cover everything, most people don't know about IGGR unless they do a specific search; it took me two weeks back in February before I found it.

A specific shareable IGGR page would make things so much easier. I don't know if a way to share photos from events. I know some people may not want to appear in public photos, but I also know that there are people who would be more inclined to join a protest that looks like it has momentum.

Next, there was a very recent post about L.A. and multiple smaller protests as a tactic. I'd like to recommend that we try that here. Police have been much more chill with smaller groups than larger ones. Also, smaller ones all around the city have more visibility to people all over G.R. than a singular event they could totally miss unless they happen by it.

It also may make it more accessible to people who are less comfortable with driving/ parking downtown.

Finally, is there a better way to communicate ideas with IGGR administrators?

Thanks so much for all your hard work!

Thank you for this comment Mary Sue. We haven't seen any of the tags - are you doing so within Substack or elsewhere? The best way to talk with us via Substack is through the Direct Messaging feature or email us at indivisibleggr@gmail.com

As far as listing events, we do have a listing on our Facebook Group that is always up-to-date with the coming week's events and it's always included in our weekly email.

You can always share the email you receive from us via Substack with others - simply forward it on. Or send them the link to the Weekly Newsletter.

The link to our sharable page is: https://indivisiblegrr.substack.com/

We opted to have everything live here instead of also having a website because we don't have enough volunteers to help us manage all of the social and online places.

And we need volunteers to help organize all of the great ideas you have! If you're interested in volunteering, please fill out this form and our volunteer coordinator will get back to you asap. https://forms.gle/J8zzsr6brGZ5XZVt6

Thank you so much for being here and reaching out!

I have a question. I posted in the Facebook group because I know Foxtail Coffee just opened near me in Eastown. I was looking forward to visiting when my daughter told me it was owned by the DeVos family. I wanted to verify instead of just assuming, and it turns out she's correct. In addition to verifying that, (https://griid.org/tag/devos-owned-property/) people posted that we should protest/ boycott/ do a sit in, type of action.

I know that administrators have been clear that their efforts are aimed at Trump. But DeVos' being huge donors to him, as with Musk. Would this be in line with the group's policy?

Also, I tacked this on to my earlier question because I couldn't find a quick link to message administrators. Can you give me a better link?

Mary Sue, thank you for your question and continuing engagement with IGGR. It's great that you took the extra step of verifying the information about Foxtail, this is so important these days.

We are focused on educating and activating people about local, state, and federal issues. Since the DeVos family are big Trump donors AND have launched an effort to elect Republicans in MI, letting people know what they are up to and how to avoid contributing to them in any way is in line with our focus. Thank you for asking.

As for contacting us, feel free to email us at indivisibleggr@gmail.com.
